What are Organic Foods?

Organic foods are those type of foods produced without depending on artificial substances such as the likes of hormones, antibiotics, chemicals, GMO’s etc. Organic foods are produced by the technique of organic farming where manure is the source of natural fertilizer. Moreover, this farming technique offers many benefits to the soil such as keeping them in good condition. This in turn leads to less pollution, save more water, and become a great friend to the environment. Let’s focus on more information based on organic foods.

  1. It Contains Low Levels of Nitrate – Many foods produced today require some amounts of nitrate. The drawback of this chemical is that too much consumption of nitrate causes cancer. Organic farming also depends the use of this chemical however, the content is low as compared to other farming techniques.
  2. It contains more amounts of Antioxidants and Vitamins – Many researches have proven that organic foods contain good amounts of antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients. Iron and zinc are seen in good amounts in organic foods allowing the food to offer more flavors and also last longer. Organically produced cereals, vegetables and fruits contain good amounts of vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients. Moreover, organically produced corns and berries contain around 58% and 52% of vitamins and antioxidants.

Many consumers are now depending on organic foods even though it is slightly on the expensive side. This is because there are plenty of benefits in consuming organic foods. In demand for organic, Brisbane and other such cities are leading the high demand.
