1. The first thing to do is to call the Department of National Security and Justice about 4 weeks before arriving in Jamaica. You will need to arrange a marriage license.
2. Then you'll need to sort all your documents for your marriage license. Bring certified copies of your birth certificate which must include the name of your father.
You will need proof of separation if applicable and a certified copy of the death certificate of the deceased spouse if you are a widower or widow.
3. Make arrangements with a registrar certified to conduct the ceremony. There are non-denominational wedding agents that you get married and your fiancé/fiancée at the location of your choice. You will need 2 witnesses, but the registrar can usually provide witnesses for you.
4. You must arrive in Jamaica 24 hours before the time you plan to marry. It's the law. Use this time to contact your marriage and iron agent on all last-minute details.
